The NSW Youth Advisory Committee (NSW YAC) is a governance committee of the Australian Red Cross and made up of up to 12 young people under the age of 30. The NSW YAC supports the organisation through the planning and delivery of youth related campaigns and events in NSW. The NSW YAC is responsible for advising the NSW Board and staff, designing and delivering youth engagement and mobilisation initiatives, and promoting the work of Australian Red Cross.
The role suits someone under the age of 30 who can commit to attending monthly meetings (face-to-face or via videoconference), lead projects and complete associated tasks outside of meeting times. You will be able to develop and implement projects based on your own skill areas and interests and work both collaboratively and independently. To be successful in this role you will have highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including a capacity to work effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
Young people from across NSW from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, young people with disabilities, and young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are encouraged to apply.
As a member of the NSW YAC, you will provide advice and share your ideas on innovative ways to get young people involved in humanitarian action in NSW. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.
