The WA Regional Representatives Forum is responsible for building and maintaining a strong, vibrant, and inclusive community of people connected to Australian Red Cross.
Australian Red Cross is currently revitalising membership and leadership structures within Western Australia. The Regional Representatives Forum is a new approach, aspiring to represent the whole state in our leadership and decision-making structures, whilst being present and part of local communities.
The Chair of the Regional Representatives Forum will guide a team of volunteers from across Western Australia as they support communication, connection, and community building with Australian Red Cross members and volunteers and their communities across WA. In addition, the Chair will become an appointed member of the West Australian Advisory Board and contribute to the broader volunteer leadership within Australian Red Cross in Western Australia.
The Chair is expected to be a champion for reconciliation, supporting Forum members in their roles as local champions for reconciliation. We believe that reconciliation is everyone’s business, and that all Australian’s have a role to play in challenging racism, breaking down stereotypes, and promoting understanding and healing between all Australians
Current or new volunteers and members are eligible to apply. As this position is for a committee and a member of the West Australian Advisory Board, current Australian Red Cross staff are not eligible to apply. The successful applicant must be a Governance Member of Australian Red Cross in WA (or willing to be come one).
The Chair of the Forum is not allowed to also represent a Region, but you are able to apply for both roles.
Note: The West Australian Advisory Board are currently consulting on the final design and structure of the Regional Representatives Forum. Applications are open now but you may not hear from us until applications close in December 2020. You will be able to review the final structure and committee document when it is finalised before committing to this volunteer role.
Be part of building something new within a 104 year old humanitarian organisation. Connect local people with shared values to each other, help make good things happen for local communities, and build a strong network of people doing good together.
