Family Support Volunteer - Busselton, Dunsborough & Margaret River

  • 4 hours per week for 12 weeks per family
  • 12 months commitment

The program

By supporting vulnerable parents, Red Cross helps them support their children at the most vulnerable and important times of their lives.
Red Cross works to build parent's confidence, improve their health and nutrition and link them with friends and community.

The opportunity

Volunteer assists parent/s with care tasks pertaining to the needs of babies and toddlers-feeding, settling, playing. Can also include assistance to attend appointments for parent or child. Linkage to community groups and supports. Assistance with light house duties e.g. folding washing or meal preparation. Respite for parent to self care or rest if required. DOES NOT include transporting family or babysitting in absence of parent.

The impact

As a family support volunteer, you will help people get their family’s health and wellbeing on track. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.

  3. Complete some checks If you are successful in getting the role we’ll ask you to complete a Police Check. In some cases a Working With Children Check may also be required.
  4. Get started! At this stage, it’s time for your induction and training as you’re now an official Red Cross Volunteer.
