Roadhouse Services delivers a free hot meal and information service in the Griffin Centre 6 nights per week in the late afternoon. The program also provides information on housing and employment and referral to other support services.
Volunteers required for supporting the Red Cross Roadhouse program to provide meals to the homeless and disadvantaged six days a week.
Volunteers set up the hired room, undertake basic meals preparation, serve meals to patrons and clean up and pack away tables and chairs at the end of the shift. Physical ability to set up tables and chairs and lift up to 10 kg would be highly desired. Volunteers must be over 18 years of age and have a Working with Vulnerable People Card.
As a Road House volunteer you will be involved in helping to prepare and serve nutritious food to homeless and disadvantaged community members who otherwise might not have access to a decent meal in a day. Volunteers work in a small and friendly team of people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
