Volunteer Driver - Cottesloe

The Program

The High Needs Unit (HNU) at Lady Lawley Cottage (LLC) provides short- term respite care to children and young people with complex medical needs who are transitioning between home, the community and Princess Margaret Hospital.  

The Opportunity

The position would suit someone who is flexible and patient. A full ‘C Class’ drivers licence is essential. Having a history in transporting people and driving larger vehicles is a bonus.

The role provides assistance to the High Needs Unit with transporting children to and from school, medical appointments, excursions and activities using a Red Cross Vehicle. Volunteers will also be required to take on additional tasks to assist HNU if required; this may include tidying up, engaging with the children and young people and helping with meal times.

To be successful in this role you should be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check, an in house police check and have a valid driver’s license.

The Impact

As a Driver you will be improving the opportunity for children with disabilities to attend activities, appointments and community events. Lady Lawley Cottage will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world’s largest humanitarian network.
