The program
Having good social connections are essential for all aspects of health, especially as we age. TeleYarn provides phone calls to those who would benefit from a regular friendly conversation. You will be making friendly telephone calls to people who may be feeling a little lonely, providing an opportunity for participants and volunteers to have a chat, connect, and develop a friendship.

The opportunity
If you have a genuine interest in connecting with people in your local community over the telephone, chatting with people, listening and sharing stories then this will be the ideal role for you.

All volunteers are asked to complete a National Criminal Check.

TeleYarn calls are made from the comfort of your own home.

The impact
As a TeleYarn Caller you’ll brighten the life of someone suffering vulnerability by offering them friendship over the phone. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.

For more information, please see the volunteer role description below or contact Narelle Smith on 03 5223 8700.
