Recruitment and Office Administration Volunteer - North Melbourne

- Support the recruitment, on-boarding, training and development of the new intake of Red Cross Victorian Emergency Services Volunteers
- On-going role, with a minimum time commitment of 4 hours per week
- North Melbourne location
Red Cross has been responding to emergencies and providing humanitarian assistance in Australia since 1914. We are committed to strengthening and extending our emergency aid services to assist all Australians to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
Working in the North Melbourne office, you will be committed to supporting the Workforce team with the recruitment, on-boarding, training and development of our new intake of Emergency Service volunteers across Victoria.
You will also have the opportunity to support our Volunteer Leadership Team by building their capacity and capability to lead their Divisions and Teams, as well as gain access to Red Cross training opportunities in psychological first aid, preparedness and recovery activities.
You will need to be reliable, possess good interpersonal skills and have the ability to relate to people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Further to this, you will have the following mind set and skills:
- A passion to volunteer for a humanitarian organisation
- A high level of computer literacy and confidence in navigating computer-based information systems
- Strong ability to interpret and communicate information effectively, particularly with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work as part of a team
- A commitment to Red Cross’ seven fundamental principles – humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality.
Initial induction training will be provided, as well as specific systems and process training.
As a Red Cross Emergency Services volunteer, you will have many opportunities for additional training and leadership development as well.
As an Emergency Services volunteer, you’ll be helping to improve the lives of vulnerable people across Victoria before, during and after an emergency. You’ll support our largest intake of new volunteers, helping to shape the future of Red Cross Emergency Services. You will be making an incredibly valuable contribution with impact that reaches across the state, supporting our volunteers who make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable people in our communities.
