Divisional Youth Advisory Commitee Representative - WA

Availability: Business hours, Evenings, Mornings, Weekends
Time involved: 1 - 4 hours per week
- Ongoing, minimum of 4hrs p/month for meetings and 1-2 hrs per week for project support (as required)
- Flexible times and dates, some evening or weekend commitment may be required (such as meetings and workshops).
The Western Australian Youth Advisory Committee (WAYAC) operates at the direction of the Divisional Advisory Board (DAB). This role is to advise Australian Red Cross on national and local matters from a youth perspective.
Utilise your professional expertise, knowledge and skills as well as life experience and interests to support informed decision making and good governance at Red Cross.
You will provide advice from a youth perspective on any significant matters, making recommendations, reviewing Red Cross policies and strategies relating to young people. This may involve research tasks, project support, meeting with staff and key stakeholders and creation of new opportunities for young people.
Australian Red Cross provides a supportive environment for the professional development of our volunteers to perform this role.
Volunteering in this role will help to shape the engagement of young people, the provision and access to services for young people and help to build on the humanitarian work of Red Cross.
Through volunteering as a representative on the Youth Advisory Committee (WA), you will establish new networks, have the opportunity for further volunteering and engagement roles with Red Cross and positively impact the lives of people accessing our programs.
