Time involved: 1 - 4 hours per week

The Mentoring Program aims to enable people to be linked to positive volunteer mentors who can assist with building community networks, developing pro social skills and supporting the achievement of self-determined goals. The mentoring program will provide consistent, regular and intensive support in an effort to foster resilience, stability and a positive direction for the lives of clients. Volunteers will develop positive interpersonal relationship with the client in order to create a positive foundation for change.
The Volunteer Mentor role is to provide valuable mentoring support to adult men who have been in contact with the justice system to assist them to articulate their goals, reconnect with the community and pursue positive lifestyles that minimise future risk of reoffending. Utilising strengths based approach. The Volunteer Mentor will identify and leverage the participant’s skills, competencies and interests toward the achievement of agreed outcomes.
The Volunteer Mentor will work with adults who have been in contact with the justice system helping them articulate and achieve their goals, develop pro-social skills and reconnect with their community in a way that minimises future risk of reoffending.
