Kempsey Aboriginal Community Development volunteer

The Program

Red Cross works together with the Aboriginal Kempsey Community to achieve goals which are important to their community. The program assists the community to deliver services which support cultural connection and contribute to the designing solutions for community needs.

The opportunity

This role suits someone over the age of 18 who is a good listener and able to be a role models to the local youth whilst also assisting in the day to day running of the cultural camps which the community runs.

Volunteers are asked to support the Community Development Officer in the delivery of our programs whilst participating in the design and delivery of local community solutions. Volunteers will also be requested to supervise participants and help as required.

The impact

As a Kempsey Aboriginal Community Development Officer, you will take part in facilitating and empowering a community to develop and work with projects that are important to them. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the world's largest humanitarian network.
