Volunteer Meal Delivery Hero - Queenstown
Role no: 494681
Time involved: 1 - 4 hours per week
Location: Regional TAS
- Time frame: ongoing
- Time Commitment - min 1-2 hours per week, fortnight or month
Delivered Meals provides a range of healthy and nutritious frozen and fresh meals delivered to the door of people who find it difficult to cook for themselves. This service is more than just a meal. Our friendly volunteers will also check in on recipients when they deliver the meals - stopping and say 'hi' and doing a wellbeing check.
We are looking for enthusiastic and reliable volunteers to be part of a team of Meal Delivery Heroes. This is a great opportunity for anyone who would enjoy calling on a variety of people in their homes and making their life a little bit easier.
You will need to provide your own car to transport the meals, however we will reimburse you for petrol.
Red Cross is an inclusive organisation and welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds and experience levels, so if you have some spare time and want to give back to your community we’d love to hear from you.
Many people in our community find it difficult to cook for themselves, often due to a lack of mobility which can also result in social isolation. As a Red Cross Delivered Meals Volunteer, you’ll be helping these people access not only nutritious food, but also a nice chat to brighten their day. Your support and assistance can make all the difference in the lives of those people who need it most, and we're sure that you'll enjoy it too!
Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.
For more information, please see the volunteer role description below or contact Jenny Adams on 6326 0417.
