The program:

Seeking volunteers to assist with our Driver Mentor Program, which aims to assist learner driver's gain their 120 hours compulsory learner driver experience as a part of their learner driver requirements

The opportunity:

Using Red Cross vehicles the Volunteer Driver Mentor will sit alongside the learner driver and provide supervision, support, and basic training.  Volunteers will have the opportunity to work one on one with a learner supporting their journey to become safer drivers.

The impact:

The Learner driver mentor program relies on Volunteers to help supervise learner drivers whilst they gain their 120 hours required to gain a provisional 1 license (P1). As a mentor you have the opportunity to work one on one with people experiencing disadvantage. These participants have little to no help from their families or any other member of the community to assist them. These reason may be that the family does not own a car, or their families may only be on provisional licenses themselves or they may be completely disengaged with their family. Our volunteers have full access to our car pool at a time that suits them, an hour a week, or two is all that is required to help or more if you have the time.

For more information, please see the volunteer role description below or contact Jennifer on 02 5963 2956.
