Having good social connections are essential for all aspects of health, especially as we age. Red Cross supports older people who live alone or who have few social connections to help improve their wellbeing.
Red Cross social connection programs match those who are not in regular social contact with people with a caring and friendly volunteer.
This role suits someone over the age of 18 who is a good listener and can commit to one hour a fortnight for a social visit to someone living in their own home or a small group of residents in an aged care facility.
As a Community Visitor volunteer, you’ll brighten the life of someone suffering vulnerability by offering them company and friendship. Red Cross will ensure you have training, ongoing support and access to other opportunities within the World’s largest humanitarian network.
For more information, please see the volunteer role description.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
